The idea of a separate country for Muslim's Ummah is inherent in Islam, but this perception/idea or concept bears no resemblance to a territorial entity In Sub-Continent, the first time proposal of a Muslim state was enunciated in 1930 by the Great poet/philosopher Mr. Muhammad Iqbal, who suggested that the four northwestern provinces (Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, and the North-West Frontier Province) should be joined in such a Muslim state. In a 1933 pamphlet Choudhary Rahmat Ali, a Cambridge student, coined the name Pakstan (later Pakistan), on behalf of those Muslims living in Punjab, Afghan (North-West Frontier Province), Kashmir, Sind, and Balochistan. Alternatively the name was said to mean"Land of the Pure." (H.R.T.) Birth of the new muslim state. Pakistan came into reality and existance as a dominion within the Commonwealth in August 1947, with Jinnah as a first Governor General of Pakistan and Liaquat Ali Khan as First Prime Minister. With West and East Pakistan separated by more than 1000 miles of Indian territoryy and with the major part of the wealth and resources of the Heritage of British passing to India at that time, Pakistan's survival seemed to hang in the balance. In all well-organized provinces of British India, only the comparatively backward areas of Sindh, Balochistan, and the North-West Frontier came to Pakistan intact. Mohammad (P.B.U.H) was born in Makkah, Arabia, on Monday, 12 Rabi' Al-Awal (2 August A.D. 570). His mother, Aminah, was the daughter of Wahb Ibn Abdu Manaf of the Zahrah family. His father, 'Abdullah, was the son of Abdul Muttalib. His genealogy has been traced to the noble house of Ishmael, the son of Prophet (P.B.U.H) Abraham in about the fortieth descend. Muhammad (P.B.U.H)'s father died before his birth. Before he was six years old his mother died, and the doubly orphaned Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was put under the charge of his grandfather Abdul Muttalib who took the most tender care of him.
